  • WR 100 - Effective Writing or
  • HN 210 - Eloquentia Perfecta
  • WR 200 - Introduction to Creative Nonfiction
  • WR 220 - Introduction to Rhetoric
  • WR 230 - Introduction to Poetry and Fiction
  • Seven 300- or 400-level electives (exclusive of WR 400)

  1. WR 100 is the prerequisite for most upper-level writing courses and must be taken in the freshman year. (Honors students fulfill this prerequisite through HN 210.)
  2. All WR 300-level courses include a course-appropriate research component.
  3. Students must complete the diversity core requirement through a designated diversity core, major, or elective course (see Diversity Core Requirement under Curriculum and Policies).
